Pure Ariel

I made Purified Ariel, or Ariel before being killed, years ago, as with Kain and Raziel. I would then use this model to create her ruined Ghost Ariel form. This depicts her restored form as a ghost from near the end of Defiance, now with the power of being united with the souls of her predecessor Balance Guardians. Her eyes glow with purified flame. The dress is inspired by her original Blood Omen 1 dress, red with gold trim. It’s a classic medieval style dress, borrowing from designs of early and middle periods, made of fine velvet with fine silk for the trim and sash. Adorning the trim, as with Moebius’ cloak, are various runes used around the Pillars’ iconography and from the Ancient vampire ruins, and embroidered onto her chest is the symbol of Balance. She also has a medieval style belt with placards, made of bronze, with effigies memorializing all of the Pillars of Nosgoth. The Balance one is an oval with all of the gemstones surrounding the center Mother Mary-like Balance Guardian figurine actual gemstone colors that represent the Pillars, too.

Like Galadriel from Lord of the Rings, everything on Ariel is meant to invoke that mature, regal, yet timelessly beautiful look. The great concept art done for her by Daniel Cabuco mixed with her voice actress, Anna Gunn, were the references to great her original look, which is modified in proportions slightly to fit the Defiance rig. I’ve included a few original renders showcasing the differences.
